Clayton Thermal Processes Limited (CTPL)
have seen a substantial increase in turnover from the U K plastics sector,
with increased revenue from their Contract Cleaning Service and in the
supply of thermal cleaning systems for in house use.
Since the introduction in 2007 of a new range of vacuum pyrolisis furnaces,
orders have been taken for two Schwing VacuClean 354T units
and a Schwing VacuClean 154T, which have been delivered, installed
and commissioned to the customers’ satisfaction.
The
354T has a usable chamber size of 3.23 metres x 0.53 metre x 0.43
metre, has a load capacity of 1,250 kilograms and is capable of cleaning
screws, filters and spinnerettes up to 3 metres in length. The furnaces were
sold to leading manufacturers in the medical injection moulding sector and
in the production of non woven fibres. VacuClean 154T, which has a
usable chamber size of 1.12 metres x 0.53 metre x 0.43 metre, a load
capacity of 750 kilograms is the perfect answer for the cleaning of
contaminated extrusion die heads prior to disassembly. A unit was supplied
to a major manufacturer of piping and sanitary systems for the residential,
commercial and infrastructure sectors.
A
tool room thermal cleaning oven, Compact Cleaner II, for the cleaning
of extrusion machine die parts was supplied to a leading manufacturer of
hose for pneumatic, hydraulic and fluid applications. The unit has a usable
volume of 400 mms dia x 570 mms deep, enabling the customer to clean parts
up to 80 kilograms in weight.
Sub
contract cleaning is ideal for polymer processors who have insufficient
throughput to justify an in house cleaning system and CTPL has seen a
big increase in the number of customers using the service. With the need to
maximize the use of tool room personnel, it is often cheaper to send out
parts for cleaning. Components are not subjected to the same risk of damage,
which results from mechanical cleaning or the use of the old-fashioned gas
torch and they are generally turned round in less than 24 hours. In recent
times CTPL has won orders for the cleaning of hot runners, screws,
filters and significantly for the cleaning of spinnerettes and spinnerette
filter packs from fibre production.
Clayton Thermal Processes Ltd
markets the full range of thermal cleaning equipment manufactured by
Schwing Fluid Technik Gmbh, which includes heat treatment fluidised
beds, cleaning ovens and vacuum pyrolisis furnaces as well as offering the
contract cleaning and heat treatment service from its works in the West
Midlands.
