Clayton Nanotechnology

Surface coatings on tool steels, which impart extreme hardness for use in the oil, security and defence sector.

Clayton Nodrill

Developed to address security issues, for example defence against high power battery hand tools as demonstrated opposite.

The surface coating can be varied in thickness depending on the desired application but in general for ‘ant-drill’ properties a thickness of  1 – 3  µ (microns) is sufficient.

Base material thickness can be as thin as 2/3 mm with an after process surface hardness in the region of 2000 Vickers hardness.

As shown in the table opposite the No-drill harness is in excess of that of Tungsten Carbide (WC).
